A retired army general and two other retired officers have been indicted in the killing of 14 dissidents in 1973 during the dictatorship of Gen. Augusto Pinochet. The Santiago Court of Appeals said Gen. Gonzalo Santelices, Maj. Patricio Ferrer and Lt. Pablo Martínez were being held Monday at a military barracks. The killings were part of the so-called Caravan of Death, a military operation that left more than 90 political prisoners dead as it traversed the country shortly after the coup led by General Pinochet.
